No tricks, just treats for troops at Kool Smiles Dentistry

Kool Smiles Dentistry in Hattiesburg is asking parents to drop off 25 pieces of candy at 3720 Hardy St. in return for a toy. Representatives from Kool Smiles will then ship the candy to troops fighting overseas. Dentists say the program is a win-win because it gives kids a chance to give back.

Deesha Bradley, whose mother is stationed in Germany, says the initiative holds special meaning to her.

"It's very easy. I would just say take two pieces of candy for your children. Come to Kool Smiles. Bring it to us. It's just something sweet for them. We just keep them in thought, and it's open to the community. You don't have to be a patient here," Bradley said.

Bradley added that last year's initiative was a success. She also says employees at Kool Smiles hope to send even more candy to troops this year. Floss and tooth brushes will be included in the troops' care packages.
