No. 4 Bobcats prepare for Itawamba

The fourth-ranked JCJC Bobcats are full steam ahead this week as they prepare to face Itawamba at home this Saturday for the start of the MACJC playoffs.

The Bobcats are the one-seed in the South Division with a 8-1 record overall and a 5-1 record in their division.

The Indians come into Saturday's contest as the two-seed in the North with a 6-3 record overall and a 4-2 record in the division.

Head coach Ray Perkins discussed how he's preparing for the playoff match-up.

"We've had a good week of preparation this far and I don't foresee any difficulty in the remainder of the week," Perkins said in his office.

"I think our guys understand fully what's in store for them and what we're playing for."

Perkins also mentioned the advantage of playing at home for such an important game.

"I think it's always important to have the game at home and I think it's real good that we have it here at Jones."

Kickoff between JCJC and Itawamba is Saturday at 3 p.m. This is the first time Jones has hosted a playoff game since 2002.
