ROSEVILLE, CA (RNN) – An unarmed Samuel Duran surrendered to police early Saturday, after leading police on a chase and barricading himself inside of a home.

Local police spokesman, Brian Jacobson, said Duran may have been persuaded to obey police orders and walk out of the house in Rosewood, near Sacramento.

The Friday afternoon a manhunt for a parolee, who police say shot an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, turned into a standoff with police in California.

Duran was holed up in a home, armed with what police thought was an "assault type weapon," and he cut off communication with hostage negotiators.

People inside the home where the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Samuel Duran, took refuge were able to escape unharmed.

Three other officers were injured, one shot in the shoulder and another in the jaw, while a third officer suffered injuries from bullet fragments. Two officers have since been released from the hospital, while another remains in serious condition.

"We understand that three are in stable condition and one is in serious," Walstead said on Friday night.
