3 people arrested on prostitution charges

STRATFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Two women and their male "manager" were arrested on prostitution charges after police said the females were willing to take payment for sex.

An undercover Stratford police detective responded to a online post in which two women offered sex for $350.

The detective met the women, who later identified as 20-year-old Candice Janton and 21-year-old Kayla Walters, at Stratford Conference Center and Hotel, which is located at 225 Lordship Blvd. on Oct. 16. 

When the detective entered the room, police said there was marijuana inside and "evidence of recent drug use."

Edward Thomas, 38, New York, NY was also found inside the room with an infant child. He was the "manager" of the two women.

Walters and Janton were both arrested and charged with prostitution, risk of injury to a minor and possession of marijuana. They were held on $5,000 bond and were scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. 

Thomas was also arrested and charged with promoting prostitution, risk of injury to a minor, possession of marijuana. He was held on a $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
