An Ellisville man was arrested Friday night after he attempted to break in to Rodgers Family Pharmacy on Central Avenue.
Stanley Bowman is charged with attempted commercial burglary. He made his first appearance in Petal Municipal Court Monday where his bond was set at $10,000.
Authorities say Bowman attempted to bust out the window of the front door with a metal rod but was unable to do so because it was safety glass. Petal Police responded after receiving an alarm call. When they arrived they learned from a witness which direction Bowman had gone.
"There were several officers in the area during the time when the call came out," said Mitch Nobles, Investigator, Petal Police. "The responding officers gathered information that a suspect had walked from the pharmacy to the Subway across the Street. With-in 30 minutes the officers made contact with him and apprehended and arrested him for attempted commercial burglary."
Nobles says Bowman has a prior criminal history.
