JEFFERSON DAVIS COUNTY (WDAM) - A stretch of Highway 84 will be will be named in honor of a fallen police officer.
The dedication of the Ronald Wayne Jones Memorial Highway will take place October 17th at 10:00 a.m. at the safety complex, located at 1340 Highway 181 in Prentiss.
In late 2001, Jones was serving a warrant during a drug raid – when he was injured after a shot rang out. Jones later died of his injuries – at the age of 29.
