After a rough start to the year, Hattiesburg High has started district play a perfect 3-0. That includes a 20-10 win over St. Martin on Friday. A big key in that win was Tigers' quarterback Tristen Walley.
Walley helped lead the Tigers to victory with 268 all-purpose yards. The junior threw for 137 yards and a touchdown along with 131 rushing yards and a score, and Walley says it was a team effort. "It was very special. I couldn't have done it without my offensive line, my wide receivers, or my tight ends. Without them, I wouldn't have been able to accomplish all this."
Hattiesburg head coach Tony Vance says Walley has improved steadily throughout the year, and he's proud of what his quarterback has accomplished. "There's a lot of great players in this area, and I'm honored to have one of mine be named player of the week."
Walley and the Tigers hit the road again this Friday to face Gulfport
