(RNN) – Tired of the government shutdown and all the childish posturing on national TV between grown-ups in nice suits who get paid to run the government?

Then we have something sure to turn your frown upside down.

Three men who are fed up with the situation chose to protest in the best way possible – with guitars.

Their cover of a famous Petula Clark song highlights one important thing – "downtown" is not a fun place to go when "non-essential" federal workers are sitting at home instead of their offices.

Fun on the ... river?

From the Department of Stupid Ideas That Turned Into Great Videos … a little gem that only boredom and some expensive outdoor equipment could produce.

So, here's the setup: a drainage ditch, a kayak and a long-haired, 20-something male.

If any more explanation is needed, you need a little more life experience or possibly a personality transplant.

Bumpers and buttercups

Strangers coming together to do things at random times always produces feel-good moments - not that politicians in Washington, DC, would know anything about that (OK, we're done cracking on them).

YWVV loves it when young people who drive fuel-efficient vehicles drag people – reluctantly or otherwise – into a sing-along in the middle of traffic on the freeway.

Now, we know what you're thinking. Singing while driving is just as dangerous as texting/talking while driving. And you're probably right, so our advice is not to try this at home. Or on the interstate. You know what we're trying to say.

Stay in school, kids

It's never too early to begin teaching children valuable life lessons.
