One man hospitalized after being hit by car

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

One person was taken to a Tyler hospital Wednesday night, after being hit by a car while crossing the road.

Tyler police say just before 8PM, William Parker, 57, was crossing the road in the 600 block of North Broadway Avenue in Tyler.

Police say Parker was hit by a car, and suffered a broken leg. He was taken to the hospital, but his injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.

Police say Parker was at fault, because he did not yield the right of way to the oncoming car. No one else was hurt, and no tickets were issued after the accident.
