JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Sixteen year old Demario Mangum has been sentenced to 15 year for sexually abusing a two-year-old girl, but 10 of those years are suspended.

Mangum will end up serving five years and the victim's mother doesn't think that's enough. She thinks he should serve 15 years with no parole.

Mangum was 15 when he assaulted the little girl while babysitting. He was tried as an adult and convicted in August.

The maximum sentence he could have received was one day short of his natural life.
