The weather won't stop a certain ship from sailing....

They're gearing up for one of the biggest events in Cleveland. The 20th year of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Northeast Ohio.

The event will be held Saturday at the Convention Center.

"It's a celebration of survivorship. It's a celebration of remembrance of those that we've lost," says the Executive Director of Komen Northeast Ohio Sean Shacklett.

Rain or shine the weather won't put a damper on a things as volunteers get the finishing touches in place. The tents, and stages are up and the decorations of course are pink, giving it that special touch.

"This is a huge milestone for us. We are expecting a great crowd tomorrow rain or shine it's going off no matter what will be out here," says Shacklett.

Thousands of people are expected to pack the field at Mall C of the Convention Center for the Survivors Ceremony.

Susan Biebelhauser is a two year breast cancer survivor and volunteer.

"I just feel that it's very important to give back because I'm happy. I'm considered to be cured and I have the energy to do it, and it's just a wonderful cause to help women and actually men,' says Susan Biebelhauser.

Registration starts at 6am. The race kicks off at 9:15 starting at 6th and Lakeside ending at Lakeside and Ontario.

An event that brings thousands together with a mission to help cure breast cancer.

"I think we can find a cure right here in Northeast Ohio. We've got too many great minds. Too many great dedicated people to not make it happen," says Shacklett.
