Waynesboro Mayor vetoes 2014 budget

The Waynesboro Board of Aldermen want to cut over a $1 million out of its upcoming budget, but the mayor is saying no way.

Mayor Richard Johnson vetoed the 2014 budget because he thinks the cuts are too drastic.

Last year, the budget was over $8 million, and the Alderman have cut that down to $6.7 million.

A special meeting has been called for Monday evening at 5:30 p.m.
