Wayne County Pharmacist faces more charges

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

James Cooley, the owner of Cooley Drugs in Waynesboro was jailed Tuesday after leading officers on a high speed chase.

The cops said they tried to pull Cooley over to serve him with various arrest warrants, but he didn't stop and allegedly rammed one of the police cars not once, but twice. According to police, he also tried to run the police off the road.

Another officer shot the tires out on Cooley's pick-up.

Cooley was charged with aggravated assault. He also has previous charges of simple assault, malicious mischief, and disturbing the peace.

Cooley was arrested over the summer in Alabama on drug charges.

    Following a school-record 55 wins and run that ended in an 8-7 loss in the NJCAA national championship, Jones County Junior College softball is eager to open the 2018 season on February 3. Coming that close to the school’s first national title serves as motivation enough for the Lady Bobcats. Regardless, expectations are always high for coach Chris Robinson’s teams – JCJC is a combined 105-12 the last two seasons.
