Today's guest for Midday was Dr. Elizabeth Sullivan, a neurologist with Wesley Medical Center.
Sullivan discussed the use of botox as treatment for things like spasticity, dystonia and migraine headaches.
"Botoxs keeps nerves from making muscles contract, so the botox injections help relax your muscles, preventing migraines," Sullivan said.
According to Sullivan, to apply for botox injections a referral from a general doctor is required. The use of botox for migraines must be treated with prescriptions before insurance will cover the injections.
