The Mississippi doctor who cured a newborn baby of AIDS spoke to medical students Tuesday at William Carey University.
A mother of four herself, she says her faith is the reason why she made such an astounding achievement.
Gay told 7 On Your Side, "I did not cure the baby. God cured the baby, and I was just kind of standing around close by at the time. It's not a message that gets picked up by the press very often, but that's the message I was able to deliver here."
Dr. Gay is a pediatrician at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and has attracted global attention since her discovery. Last April, she was recognized by TIME magazine as one of the most influential people in the world.
