18-wheeler driver sought after school bus crash

YAZOO COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

No students were injured in a crash involving a school bus and 18-wheeler in Yazoo County Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol the crash happened on Highway 432 near Walker Road. Trooper Eric Henry said the 18-wheeler left the scene of the accident. Authorities haven't released a description of the 18-wheeler.

Yazoo County School District Superintendent Becky Fisher said the truck hit a mirror on the side of the bus and glass from the mirror hit the bus driver in the eye.

Fisher said all of the children on the bus are fine.

Family members of the bus driver, 76-year-old Kate Boddy, said she suffered cuts to her face and glass in her eyes. She is in stable condition at a hospital.

Boddy has been driving a school bus for more than 40 years and this was the first incident has been involved in, according to family.
