Friends and family members across Jefferson Davis, Lamar, Lawrence, Marion and Pearl River Counties applauded their loved ones for completing the 15th Judicial Drug Court Program, led by Judge Prentiss Harrel.
Each member received a diploma, and some stepped forward to tell their story. Guest speaker Jeff Bates, singer/songwriter and Mississippi native gave his testimony.
"I fell down on my knees beside my little cot and asked God to change me," he said.
"When you're in jail, it's a good time to make a deal with God. We always want to make a deal."
Judge Harrel led the group to sobriety.
"I feel humbled to work with these people," he said. "This program saves people's lives."
A of 27 grads walked across the stage to celebrate their sobriety.
