Brandon man killed in collision with school bus

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Rankin County coroner confirms a Brandon man was killed in a collision with a school bus Tuesday afternoon.

Harrold T. Nash, 59, died of blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to Deputy Coroner Clifton Dunlap.

Harrold Nash's wife, Betty Nash, was a passenger in the vehicle. She was transported from the scene by ambulance with unknown injuries.

The school bus and vehicle collided on Highway 471 near Warner Drive north of Brandon around 4:30 p.m.

Brandon police say no children were on the bus. The bus driver was transported to the hospital for observation and is expected to be ok.

Police haven't released information on the cause of the crash.
