Laurel man gets retrial for 09' shooting death

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

The Mississippi Supreme Court has ordered a new trial for a Laurel man who was found guilty of murdering his wife back in 2009.

On Tuesday, a jury was selected for the retrial of Quincy Clayton. The trial was scheduled to start Tuesday but has been postponed until Thursday because a key witness had to be hospitalized.

Clayton was found guilty in 2011 for shooting his 46 year-old wife, Alice Clayton, in the chest with a shotgun.
