With the loss to Texas State in their rearview, the Southern Miss football team has their GPS set to Lincoln, Nebraska.
The two met one year ago yesterday as the Golden Eagles fell 49-20 in what would be the first of 13 consecutive losses.
The game against the Cornhuskers is the first of 3 straight road games for the black and gold until they return home October 5th against FIU.
Any road game is a challenge for a football team, but USM isn't concerned about how difficult it may be.
They know they just have to go out there and play.
"The reality is that we have to look at ourselves and set our own standard and that's really the biggest thing," head coach Todd Monken said.
Senior linebacker Dylan Reda likes the atmosphere the Lincoln brings.
"Nebraska's got great fans. I think it's gonna be fun getting to play against crowds that are going to be loud. You know 90,000 people."
Starting quarterback Allan Bridgford is comfortable with what playing on the road can bring.
"There's nothing better than going into a place like that and having them being loud and making a play and hearing the whole place go silent. There's nothing like it."
