Multiple fires slow traffic on I-20 near Marshall

HARRISON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Harrison County crews responded to the scene of multiple fires along interstate 20.

Just under a dozen different small fires broke out along interstate 20 near Marshall Sunday afternoon. Crews from Harrison County responded to the scene and were able to contain and put out the fires.

Traffic was backed up in both the east bound and west bound lanes and cut down to one lane between Highway 59 and FM 3251.

Investigators believe a tire blowout and a vehicle dragging a chain may be the cause of several of the fires.
