(RNN) - Bradley Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison and was dishonorably discharged.

A military court convicted Manning on espionage charges for leaking thousands of documents to the website WikiLeaks. On Thursday, Manning said he wants to spend the rest of his life as a woman.

Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak left prison but is under house arrest in a military hospital, according to Egyptian media. He is facing a retrial on charges of inciting violence during the 2011 uprising.

San Diego Mayor Bob Filner may resign soon if the San Diego City Council accepts a proposed mediation agreement, according to San Diego media outlets. The mayor is accused of sexually harassing at least 18 women.
