Hattiesburg gallery goes Oriental with rug show

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Oddfellows is pairing up their visual graphic arts of paintings with textile arts.

Along with viewing their gallery, residents can now also view hundreds of rugs that come from areas such as India, Turkey and Persia. Many of the oriental rugs expand from 80 - 100 years old and are said to last generations.

“It is kind of like you briefly got to walk in another country,” said Oddfellows gallery director, Kyle Goddard. “Enriches the local community and the culture just having something like this here.”

The rug show and sale is in Hattiesburg for two days only. Oddfellows will be open Saturday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 – 6 p.m
