Tropical Depression Erin: Moving west

Posted: Updated:

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Your First Alert weather team continues to monitor Tropical Storm Erin.

LATEST: Tropical Depression Erin continues its slow movement in the Atlantic.

TRACK FORECAST: Steering winds will dictate the system will continue to move west or west-northwest through open Atlantic Ocean waters for the next 5 to 7 days.

INTENSITY FORECAST: Erin is expected to maintain tropical depression strength for the coming days.  Marginally warm water and dry air may limit its ability to rapidly intensify.

HOW WILL IT AFFECT NORTH CAROLINA? It is too soon to know how, if at all, Erin will go onto affect North Carolina. We will have many days to monitor the system!
