Ron Hickman, the general manager of the Timberton Golf Club has quite the resume and he added another impressive line this weekend as the rules official for the final pairing at the PGA Championship.
Hickman is also a co-chairman for the PGA rules committee and has been an official at more 30 major championships.
Hickman shared his thoughts about what it was like at his most recent event.
"It was exciting. It didn't quite have a Ryder Cup feel, but it was a very enthusiastic crowd. I don't know if it was New York state or if it was the fact that you had two extreme opposites," Hickman said in his Timberton office.
"Jim Furyk's been there for a long time and has a strong following and Dufner's kind of the new kid in town. You know he does the texting, the tweeters and has the persona with the media."
Hickman isn't scheduled to be an official at another event until The Masters in 2014.
