HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - School will officially start for many children this week and that means their summer is near an end.
The Hattiesburg Zoo wanted to take the time out and wrap up a summer of wild adventure on Saturday by hosting "Back-In-School-Blues."
Families came out and enjoyed authentic blues sound by T-Bone Pruitt. Along with great music, residents also enjoyed award-winning barbeque by local chef Grand Ford, and children enjoyed a fun day out in the sun.
"We just thought it would be great fun to have something here on this hot Saturday that families could come out before the school schedule got so busy," said Hattiesburg Zoo General Manager, Janice Vannatta.
The Zoo's next event is Grandparents Day, which will be September 8.
