Local book store hosts signing event for internationally bestselling Hattiesburg author

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Many Pine Belt residents gathered at Main Street Books Saturday night for a book signing.

Internationally bestselling Hattiesburg author and University of Southern Mississippi alumnus David McRaney recently released his second book, "You Are Now Less Dumb." The new book is the sequel to McRaney's first book, "You Are Not So Smart," which is now an international bestseller in 14 languages.

Residents not only were able to interact with the author and get their book signed, but also listened to McRaney as he read part of his book.

"It's really cool to know you have a bestselling book, and it's going all around the world, and it's in lots of different languages," said McRaney. "But it's having the acknowledgement of something like this, a hometown event, that is most awesome and great."

McRaney will now be going on a lecture tour to Australia, Spain and Cleveland.

Along with being a Pine Belt resident and a USM alumnus, McRaney is also Digital Media Director at WDAM.
