(RNN) – Some kids in Thailand apparently need an extensive course in world history, with a concentration on World War II.

Kentucky Fried Chicken is irked that its logo was intertwined with Nazi leader Adolf Hitler at a chicken restaurant in Thailand.

The restaurant, called Hitler, featured the famous profile of Colonel Sanders with Hitler's head atop the Colonel's shoulders.

"We find it extremely distasteful and are considering legal action since it is an infringement of our brand trademark and has nothing to do with us," a Yum! spokesman, the parent company of KFC, told the Huffington Post.

Travel writer Andrew Spooner tweeted a snapshot of the storefront in late May, and it went viral.

"Very bizarre – Hitler Fried Chicken shop in Thailand. I kid you not. Complete with pic of Hitler in bow tie," Spooner said in the May 28 tweet.

Spooner said he did not take the photo, and simply shared it.

The Bangkok Post, reported that the restaurant is located in Ubon Ratchathani – 377 miles away from Bangkok, and has changed its name to "H-ler" and now has a different sign. The Bangkok Post also said the photo was taken in 2011.

This is the latest in a rash of Hitler and Nazi themed controversies.

CNN first profiled what is called the "Nazi-chic" culture among teens and young adults in Thailand in February 2012. Images of Hitler have been displayed on anything, anywhere in Bangkok, Thailand's capital – as Teletubbies with a swastika as an antenna, on panda bears with a Nazi armband and Adolph McHitler is a character that resembles Ronald McDonald.

Also included are T-shirts, backpacks and teens who dress up as Nazi soldiers, or as Hitler himself.

In 2007, according to CNN, students at a Thai school dressed up for a Nazi costume parade. The Thai ambassadors of Israel and Germany were infuriated in 2009 when a billboard promoting a wax figure of Hitler in a Bangkok wax museum read, "Hitler is not dead."

In 2012, a clothing store in India enraged Indian Jews when a storeowner named his business "Hitler." Business owner Rajesh Shah told the International Business Times that he did not know of Hitler's atrocities and named the store after a nickname given to "his partner's grandfather."

In early 2012, investors in Poland sought partners to open a tourist attraction in one of Hitler's main WWII war compounds – The Wolf's Lair.

The U.S. had an unintentional controversy in late May, when a J.C. Penny billboard in Culver City, CA, featured a teapot that kind of, sort of looked like Hitler.

Thailand's infatuation with the Nazi leader has been a turnoff for many tourists, but a Thai educator said the Hitler, Nazi-chic fad stems from ignorance, not malice.

"It's a lack of exposure to history," Bangkok high school teacher Harry Soicher told CNN. "If you don't live in Thailand, you may find it hard to believe they really mean no harm."
