ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

Seven-year-old Jaxon Parker has been fighting spitzoid melanoma for the past four years. Now he's in remission, and his mom is getting in shape to raise money for what the family considers their second home- St. Jude.

The Fitness Depot of Collins and Ellisville is holding a three month fitness competition to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

It's a weight loss competition similar to the hit-TV show The Biggest Loser.

"We're pledging a dollar per pound," says program coordinator Katherine Parker. "You pledge how much weight you want to lose in pounds. We come in, and we weigh in every week, once a week, and we pay a dollar when we weigh in."

But it's not only a competition between the participants- it's a competition on the individual level as well.

"If I've gained a pound, or I've stayed the same [weight], I have to pay them [St. Jude] an extra dollar," says Parker.

Rayborn's mom, Tiffany, set a personal fundraising goal of $500. In the first two days of the program, she has already reached $735.

"It's like giving back to the community," says Rayborn. "We want to be there and help another child as much as we can, just like everyone else helped mine."

The Biggest Loser program will last until September 13. To register contact the Fitness Depot at (601)-765-9511 or fitnessdepotonline@gmail.com. To donate online, visit http://www.myworkforstjude.org.
