CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) -

The 158th Infantry Brigade has a new commander and command sergeant major.

During a change of command ceremony Tuesday outgoing commander Colonel  Christopher Forbes passed on command of the brigade to Colonel Paul Kreis. Also during the ceremony, Command Sergeant Major Elmo Leichenauer relinquished his responsibilities to Command Sergeant Major Jerome Sligh.

Prior to coming to Camp Shelby Col. Kreis served as Executive to the Commanding General at Third Army in South Carolina. CSM Sligh recently redeployed from Afghanistan where he served as the Battalion Sergeant Major for the 77th Field Artillery in Sweinfurt Germany.

The mission of the 158th is to train reserve component and National Guard troops. They are one the largest combat training brigades with nearly 1300 mostly regular army soldiers.
