PURVIS, MS (WDAM) -

If you can spare $50 to help some young people in Purvis, you could be the next owner of a rare, classic car. Saturday, a drawing will be held during the Dixie Youth state tournament for a 1928 Ford Model-A tudor sedan.

It's the grand prize in a raffle to help pay for the building of two new baseball fields at the Purvis Youth Sports Complex.

Purvis Jewelry donated the car.

Tickets can still be bought at the Youth Sports Complex right up until the drawing at 12 p.m. They are $50 each.

"I really hope it's somebody who appreciates what they're getting," said Aaron Lott, owner of Purvis Jewelry and member of the board of directors of Purvis Youth Sports. "The '28 Model-A is kind of hard to come by nowadays. It's the first year they were made. So, it's a special car," he said.

Ticket sales began in March.
