Two men are being held in the Forrest County Jail in connection with last Thursday's kidnapping of a Florida woman who was able to escape her abductors in Hattiesburg.

Ruperto Flores, 57, and Castillo Uriel, 31, also known by the alias Jacobo Francisco, are charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping. Both are from Mexico with no known US address.

The two are being held in connection with the kidnapping of Flor Turcio-Arias, 24, from her Panama City, Florida, home.

The woman was brought to Hattiesburg where she escaped through a bathroom window at a home in the 700 block of Morton Street. Police say she walked a block to the police station to report she had been kidnapped, and authorities arrested Uriel at the home.

A subsequent law enforcement stop in Jasper County resulted in Flores' arrest.

The motive behind the kidnapping is unclear, but sources say it may be connected to a human trafficking ring operating out of Nashville. Turcio-Arias moved from Nashville to Panama City within the last six months.

Local authorities are assisting theFBI In the investigation.
