WAYNE COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Dozens of emergency crews are on the scene of a significant oil spill near the Wayne-Clarke county line.

Officials say anywhere from 30-75 barrels of oil is making its way into the Chickasawhay river. The leak from a Logan oil service tank spilled into North Yellow Creek, which makes it way into the Chickasawhay. Emergency personnel have been on the scene since this morning trying to contain and cleanup the affected area.  An environmental remediation company based in Purvis is on site to help with the cleanup.
