Suspect arrested after fatal shooting at Smyrna restaurant

SMYRNA, TN (WSMV) -

Smyrna police said they've arrested one man and are looking for a second one involved in a fatal shooting at a restaurant last month.

The shooting outside the Souksavahn Restaurant located on Almaville Road on June 23.

On Friday, police arrested Timmy Nouanemany, 23, after they found him at his parents' home on Lutie Court in Nashville.  He's charged with attempted murder in connection with the case.

Police are still searching for Bounthavy Mouthouta, 46, and he should be considered armed and dangerous.

A private party was occurring at the restaurant when the shooting occurred.

In all, three people were shot, and one of those victims, John Bouavong, 31, of Murfreesboro, died from his wounds a few days later.

    The Wayne County School District has received a $900,000 grant from the state for a new academy to help students who may have fallen behind. The school district says the STAR Academy is a "drop-out prevention" and "catch-up" type program that will be implemented in fall of 2017.
