Collins man sentenced for probation violation

COLLINS, MS (WDAM) -

A Collins man appeared in United States Circuit Court Wednesday after he violated the terms of his probation.

Brett Rogers, 43 was on supervised probation for making Internet threats toward FBI agents last year. One of the terms of his probation was he was not supposed to have any contact with federal agents.

Rogers was arrested recently after he had left voice mails on an agents phone. In court Wednesday Rogers admitted to leaving the voice mails.

During sentencing, Circuit Court Judge Keith Starrett took into account Rogers good compliance record with the terms of his probation. He sentenced him to time served and reinstated his supervised probation. He also ordered Rogers to six-months in a half way house and to get a job.

Other terms include no contact with federal agents, continuation of drug court, and he is not permitted to use the Internet.
