HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Thanks to Christian Services and the generosity of many in the Pine Belt a truck full of relief supplies is headed to tornado victims in Oklahoma.

Friday morning a donated 18-wheeler packed with 32-thouand-pounds of relief supplies pulled out of Hattiesburg headed to Oklahoma City where the supplies will be distributed to the affected areas. The 18-wheeler was donated by Daydreamers Southern Trucking.

The trucks trailer was parked in the Christian Services Parking lot for the past two weeks and as donations came in they were loaded onto it.

An additional $12,000 was donated to the cause that will pay the fuel costs to get the supplies there and was used to buy additional supplies and food.

"We're excited about it. So many people came together to make this really happen, the Newell Paper Company, Woolwine Ford, Laurel Ford, Ryan Chevrolet, " said Bill Prout, Director, Christian Services. "So many people came together to make it a reality, it's not about Christian Services."

Merchants Food also stepped in help by donating an additional $4,500 in food.
