RICHFIELD, OH (WOIO) -

Police Officers are now releasing a composite sketch of the man they say tried to kidnap an 11-year-old boy.

The composite was released Wednesday afternoon. The attempted abduction occurred on Friday, June 7 around noon in the area of Glencairn Forest and The Woods residential complexes in Richfield.

The victim tells Richfield Police Officers he was approached by the suspect in a small gray 4- door passenger car with dark tinted windows. The suspect stopped the vehicle in front of him while he was walking, blocking his path.

The man exited the vehicle and offered the boy a ride home. When the boy declined the ride and kept walking, the man grabbed him and attempted to drag him into the vehicle.

The boy and the suspect struggled.  The boy managed to escape from the suspect and ran home.

The child described the suspect as follows:

· White male 40-50 years old

· Salt and pepper hair, but not balding

· Unshaven, but no moustache or beard

· Scar on right cheek

· Possible brown eyes

· Male appeared to be physically fit

· Black short sleeve t-shirt

· Black or dark colored jeans with plain white tennis shoes

The boy says he observed only one person in the vehicle. The juvenile stated he had never seen the vehicle in the area prior to Friday.

Inquiries or further information should be directed to Richfield Police Det. Amy Ellis 330-659-9500 Extension 415.
