Arizonans plan to celebrate the upcoming birth of England's royal baby

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

It won't be long until Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, will have their baby and Arizonans are invited to a baby shower.

Guests will not be traveling to Kensington Palace, however. The shower will be held in Carefree, AZ at the English Rose Tea Room.

Owner Jo Gemmill is holding the shower June 21.

The shower will include a formal afternoon tea with tea sandwiches and scones, along with other goodies.

Guests will play baby shower games and look over some of the store's British collectibles.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a baby gift.

"We naturally can't send all of the gifts to Kate and I probably am assuming, correctly, that she'll have plenty of gifts. I don't think she'll be too short of things for the baby but what we want to do is turn this into a fundraising opportunity," said Gemmill.

The gifts will be given to the UMOM New Day Centers in Phoenix. It's a non-profit agency and the largest homeless shelter for families in Arizona.

If guests leave a gift they can sign the baby book and write a message to the mom-to-be.

"(It will) get sent to Kensington Palace and Kate will have lots of advice from all the Arizona mums on what to do with a newborn baby," said Gemmill.

The cost is $30 per person.
