A man was in critical condition after he was hit by this car as he tried to cross Olive Avenue in Glendale in the middle of the street. A man was in critical condition after he was hit by this car as he tried to cross Olive Avenue in Glendale in the middle of the street.
GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A 34-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a car as he was crossing a street in Glendale early Monday morning.

Police said the man was not in a crosswalk when he was struck near Olive and 47th avenues shortly after midnight.

The car was westbound on Olive when the man tried to cross. A Glendale police spokesman said the driver would not be cited.

Olive Avenue was closed until about 6:40 a.m.

No other information was immediately available.
