HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The 4th annual FestivalSouth in Hattiesburg has begun with some fine art, great music and good brew. Saturday afternoon, the first-ever Craft Beer Fest kicked-off the two-week series of music and art events throughout the Hub City.

28 breweries were represented at the Historic Train Depot. Attendees could try out the different varieties, while enjoying live music and checking out the FestivalSouth Arts Market.

"FestivalSouth is already established and we're putting our name in something that's already established, so these people that are going out to these FestivalSouth events that aren't necessarily craft beer drinkers are coming out to this, just because it says FestivalSouth," said Emily Curry, sales and marketing manager for Southern Prohibition Brewery of Hattiesburg. "And so, they'll try craft beer and hopefully, fall in love like I did," she said.

"It's been great, we've made a lot of contacts," said Sam Sorrells with Gordon Creek Brewery, also of Hattiesburg. "We've met people who have and have not had our beer yet, so it's been great. People understand, it's a food, just like any other food and people in South Mississippi know food," he said.

The event featured several breweries from Mississippi, as well as Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Kansas and California.
