Meet the Candidates: Dave Ware

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Dave Ware has served the Hattiesburg community as a city councilman for the last two terms, but is now taking the opportunity to take it to the next level and running for mayor.

“Our reason for running is that we believe that Hattiesburg needs to embrace the opportunities that are in front of us," said Ware.

Although there are only a few days until Election Day, Dave Ware plans to continue going street by street to talk to the residents.

"Each and every community is a little different, there's certain things that we see in one neighborhood that might be a little different in the other neighborhoods,” said Ware. “We want to make sure that no one gets left behind, that everyone feels like they're a part of this growing momentum that is Hattiesburg."

No matter the outcome of Election Day, Dave Ware says he will continue to serve his community.

"I want you to know that June fifth, we're going to wake up and serve the community in some capacity,” said Ware. “I'm not defined by a title."

Overall being a candidate for mayor of Hattiesburg has been a great experience for ware.

"It's been a great opportunity for me, it's been a great learning experience for me, and it's a journey,” said Ware. “We've been very successful with individuals helping contribute to our campaign. To the lady who we visited with, who gave me the five dollar bill, she cashed her check, gave me the five dollar bill to help make this campaign successful, I want to say thank you.

Dave Ware will face off against four other candidates June 4.
