Locals are divided over gays in Boy Scouts

It is official, Boy Scouts of America must accept all male youth no matter their sexual orientation.

Thursday, more than 60% of the Boy Scouts of America's 1,400 members voted for the historic policy change; however, the organization will maintain its ban on gay adult leaders.

The policy is scheduled to go into effect on January 1st.

An Ellisville assistant scout master is leaving the organization and taking his young sons with him.

But other Pine Belt residents say all boys should have the chance to be scouts if they desire.
