Department of Education offers opportunity to students denied graduation

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

High school seniors who will not graduate this year because of failing the state SATP test will get one more opportunity to receive their diplomas.

The State Department of Education on Wednesday afternoon announced testing is being made available for students who need to pass the assessment.

The cost is $250 per student which will be paid for by the district. The emergency testing will take place at Mississippi State University.

Officials say grades will turned around within 48 hours. Several area school districts and superintendents are scrambling now trying to arrange transportation for the test.
