HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Governor Phil Bryant says when it comes to manufacturing in Mississippi these days, "success breeds success,"and he's confident the Magnolia State will continue to attract new industry.

Recently, companies such as General Electric, General Dynamics and Yokohama Tire have opened facilities in Mississippi.

At the same time, home-grown industries such as the Hol-Mac Corporation in Bay Springs have expanded their operations.

All of that means thousands of new jobs and Gov. Bryant expects that trend to continue.

"This is the most phenomenal time for Mississippi," said Bryant. "And I believe it's because the way we were able to manage our tax incentives here in the State of Mississippi for companies that are looking for a good place to build their factories," he said.

Bryant was in Hattiesburg Friday to speak at two Southern Miss spring commencement ceremonies.
