NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The second best place to land a job in the United States is the Metro Nashville area, according to Forbes.

The city ranked ninth overall last year but moved up seven spots in 2013.

"Nashville-Davidson-Murfreesboro-Franklin, TN, reflects the power of economic diversity coupled with ample cultural amenities, pro-business policies and a mild climate," the report said. "Nashville's 3.8% expansion in employment last year, and 7 percent growth since 2008, has been propelled by business services, education and health."

Earlier this week, Tennessee was ranked as the top place to retire, according to Bankrate.
