Local shop owners showcase Mother’s Day gifts

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Finding the perfect Mother’s Day present can be difficult, but there are two gifts local shop owners say you can’t ever go wrong with, flowers and jewelry.

"Ladies love flowers, they're just all so beautiful, and we've never met a lady that didn't like flowers,” said Bellevue Florist and Gift Shop owner, Thelma Lott.

At Bellevue Florist and Gift Shop in Hattiesburg, you can choose all sorts of colors to add to your mother’s bouquet, but there's one flower that is most popular during this time of the year.

"The big thing is red roses,” said Lott.

Arrangements come in all different sizes, and can also be delivered right to her door.

"People love to answer their door and see a big bouquet of flowers there,” said Lott.

Along with flowers, jewelry may be just the trick to put a smile on your mother's face.

"Necklaces, earrings, rings, anything with diamonds in it,” said Carter’s Jewelry owner, Chae Carter.

At Carter's Jewelry in Petal, you can find the right color and style to give your mother on Sunday.

"Jewelry is something that lasts forever, it can be handed down to the next generation,” said Carter’s Jewelry manager, Amanda Wigley. “Jewelry is something that a mother is going to cherish for the rest of her life."

So this year don't make it hard on yourself, there’s still plenty of time to order a flower arrangement or stop by the jewelry shop.
