Primary run-off set for Laurel mayoral election

Citizens voting in the Democratic Primary in Laurel will head back to the polls in a couple of weeks for a mayoral run-off.

Tuesday night, State Representative Omeria Scott led the four-person field with 41 percent of the votes, but fell short of a majority.

She'll face second-place finisher, Laurel City Councilman Johnny Magee, who received 36 percent of Tuesday's votes.

Both say they're the right candidate for the job. The run-off will be held May 21st.
