COLLINS, MS (WDAM) -

Thousands of people gathered in Collins Saturday for an annual Covington County-wide family event which celebrates food, fun and music. The 24th annual Okatoma Festival featured dozens of vendors selling arts and crafts.

The event also had carnival rides and musicians performing blues and gospel music.

Laurel's Richard and Gina Headrick, producers of the movie, Last Ounce of Courage, were the festival honorees.

"It's been wonderful, it's been a beautiful day and I just think everybody's happy that the weather is good," said Tim Rayner, a food vendor from Laurel.

"It gives everyone a chance to advertise what they're doing and show what's going on in our area and especially in Collins," said Catherine Hayes of Collins.

The festival was scheduled to conclude with a street dance.
