Firefighters called to west Nashville business

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Emergency crews were called to reports of a fire Friday afternoon at a west Nashville business.

Heavy smoke was reported after 4:30 p.m. at Madison Mill in the 4000 block of Charlotte Avenue.

Firefighters have been trying to find the source of smoke in the area and workers have been ordered out of the building.

Madison Mill creates wood products for the housewares, hardware, home center and flag industries.

    The Mississippi Military Department, the Nature Conservancy and several state and federal agencies have teamed up to boost the numbers of endangered gopher tortoises at Camp Shelby and the DeSoto National Forest.
