Two people shot in domestic incident in Terry

TERRY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

WLBT has learned two people were shot in a domestic disturbance Friday night in Terry.

According to Othor Cain, Public Information Officer for the Hinds County Sheriff's Department, a male and female were shot.

The victims were attending an engagement party according to Cain.

One victim was shot in the buttock and the other shot in the leg.

The WLBT News crew was the first to arrive on the scene.

The call came in about 10:15 p.m. on Jack Johnson Road.

Deputies were on the scene assisting Terry Police with the investigation.

The injuries both received are not considered life threatening.

Michael Knowles, 24, has been arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, according to the Hinds County Sheriff's Department.

Alcohol may have been a factor in the shooting.

The incident is under investigation.
